Plastics. C o m p a n y says material is mixed with a n appropriate amount of hardener and will have a pot life of eight days, making it useful to opera tions where numerous pours are made. N o amine hardeners are used, and the material is said to be relatively non toxic. Curing temperatures are 200° t o 250° F . CS 7 • Lauryl alcohol is now offered in com mercial quantities b y American Alcolac. A narrow cut containing 95% C 1 2 to C 1 4 alcohols is offered under trade n a m e Siponol L 2 . A broader cut, Siponol L 5 is also offered. CS 8 • Metasap Chemical, a subsidiary of Nopco Chemical, has announced the development of four n e w vinyl stabi lizers for the vinyl floor tile industry. T w o of these, Metasap 633 and M-245-B, are nonstaining, nonlubricating stabilizers for vinyl floor tile com positions containing asbestos. Both products are said to impart superior h e a t stabilization. T h e other two, M-262-A and M-262-B, are stabilizers for molded floor tile. A non-staining lubricator, M-262-A, stabilizes well for light and heat. M-262-B is very simi lar to M-262-A, b u t is designed for situations where less lubrication is re quired. CS 9

now offering Flexol plasticizers 810 ( a higher alcohol p h t h a l a t e ) a n d 10-10 (didecyl phthalate) compounded with an antioxidant. W i t h t h e added antioxidant, t h e plasticizers are designated Flexol plasticizer 810X a n d Flexol plasticizer 10-1OX. Addition of t h e antioxidant improves the heat aging properties of the plasticizers in vinyl compounds designed for high-temperature use, such as vinyl electrical insulation compounds, says company. CS ï G • Acid and base resistant grease offered by Tri-State Petroleum is designated TS-23. For use in pumps and valves handling caustic or acid solutions, company says grease has excellent water resistance, ability to withstand temperatures over 400° F., fine oxidation resistance and working stability, and high metal adhesion qualities. CS 11 • Madison Lcbs is offering t h e following chemicals: cyclopropanecarboxylic acid, cyclobutanecarboxylic acid, cyclopcntanccarboxylic acid, ethyl cyclopentanecarboxylate, cyclop entaneearboxyaldehyde, cydohexanecarboxaldehyde, and cycloheptane. CS 12 • Two new starch products for corrugating industry h a v e been developed by Stein, Hall & C o . N e w products, Bondcor S and Bondcor D are designed for dual viscosity paste system. Bondcor S is used at the single facer while Bondcor Ο is applied at t h e double backer. Both a r e converted corn starches. CS 13 OCT.
