NEW PRODUCTS Neutron Generator Two neutron generators, Models NT1)0-8 and NT-60-9 are available. The first is a pulsed neutron generator, called Pulsatron, which features light weight and small size. It is used for activation analysis, teaching, oil λνεΐΐ logging, and reactor core optimization. The accelerator tube produces 17.3 m.e.v. of energy, 14.3 m.e.v. of which are impartial to the neutron, and the

remainder to He 4 . The NT-60-9 is a small accelerator-type neutron source designed for industrial and research applications. Output of 1010 neutrons per second results in a flux of 1 X 109 neutrons per cm.2 per second through samples. The instrument features an electronic ion pump, thus eliminating the need for complex external vacuum systems. Uses are in activation anal ysis, production of short half-life iso topes, and process stream measure-

This bench-top drying oven develops four standard size chromatograms quickly and uniformly while under full view. Temperatures up to 110°C can be pre-set and controlled by the hydrau lic thermoregulator. High-output heating elements are concealed in the base and protected

from droplets of combustible solvents. By connecting a motor or water aspira tor to the exhaust outlet, heated air is gently circulated over the chromato grams for fast, uniform drying, as sol vent vapors are evacuated. Sheets hang on removable rods which easily hook in place inside the oven chamber. A large safety-glass door per mits full-length viewing of color devel opment and facilitates temperature reading. The metal-reinforced door is gasket-sealed and closes securely with a positive latch. The entire oven chamber is fiberglass insulated and constructed of corrosionresistant stainless steel.

Aerograph Model A-425 Pyrolyzer is used for the analysis of nonvolatile materials when attached to a hydro gen flame gas chromatograph. The method consists of applying a small amount of material to a platinum coil, and heating electrically in the carrier gas stream. It is used with such materials as rubber, plastics, alka loids, paint films, fibers, tars, etc., which decompose at high tempera tures. The volatile decomposition products are analyzed.
