BAYPORT: A project of Friendswood Development Company, subsidiary of Humble Oil & Refining Company, located on Galveston Bay in the center of the world's largest petroleum-chemical industrial complex.

ARCO and Halcon select BAYPORT for $30 Million Oxirane Chemical Company Complex Dr. Ralph Landau, President, Halcon International, Inc.

Robert D. Bent, President, ARCO Chemical Company

ARCO Chemical Company (a division of Atlantic Rich field Company) and Halcon International, Inc. created Oxirane Chemical Company to exploit a significant technological breakthrough in producing oxygenated hydrocarbons. After a nine month site selection study, covering 50 possible locations, they picked BAYPORT for their plant. Now nearing completion, the plant will produce 160 million pounds per year of propylene oxide and other products. If you are innovating, entrepreneuring or just plain expanding, you will be interested in the factors which led ARCO and Halcon to select BAYPORT: availability of feed stocks and qualified personnel to man the new plant; reduced lead time because roads, drainage, utilities and other site services are already in; excel lent transportation with water-compelled rates; abun dant, low-cost fuels and raw materials; proximity to existing pipelines and neighboring chemical complexes; high labor productivity and good labor relations; nomi nal land costs. BAYPORT industries also enjoy the benefits of a favorable tax structure; central waste treating plant;

large, fast-growing nearby markets; favorable climate and environment; excellent residential communities just minutes away. Nearby Clear Lake City's University Park is ideal for associated research facilities, com puter centers, engineering and administrative offices. Other areas are available for warehousing or light manufacturing. For details, write or call Manton Dorrell or Earl An derson, Friendswood Development Company, Room 3009 CEN-2, P. O. Box 2180, Houston, Texas 77001, (713) 221-5582 or 221-2326. Your inquiry will be treated in strict confidence-no obligation, of course.
