Even though it operates under high pressure and temperature, and uses sulphuric acid as a catalyst, this esterification unit is engineered against d e t e r i o r a t i o n , It will resist corrosion and erosion. That's because it is fabricated of "Ampco" 8 plate. "Ampco" 8 plate is a superior aluminum bronze. Its "S" factor (allowable stress) is the highest for copper-base alloys. It is free from stress corrosion cracking. Pre-heating or postheating is not required during welding. For this reason, necessary field fabrication can be accomplished on the job site, using AMPCO-TRODP weld rod.
