For Savings of 40$ to 60$ Per Pound Three new developments of C. R Hall's re search group, Plasticizer DBSS1, DOSS2, and 83SS3, provide excellent alternatives to DBS4 and DOS5 at a fraction of the cost. DBS and DOS are based upon imported castor oil which has been characterized by high prices and substantial price fluctuations. The savings realized with the new plasticizers are approxi mately 40% . . . from 40Φ to 60φ per pound based upon current 25 drum prices. In addition, new 83SS provides substantial cost advantages over
widely used plasticizers such as monomeric pentaerythritol ester plasticizers in nitrile and nitrile/PVC blends. DBSS, DOSS, and 83SS provide physical prop erties substantially identical with the more expensive sebacate plasticizers as such and in applications in both rubber and plastics. 1
