TITRATOR,
a comprehensive instrument for electrometric titration procedures KARL FISCHER OXIDATION-REDUCTION
ACID-BASE PRECIPITATION METHODS
No other electrometric titration assembly offers all of the features incorporated in the NYLAB Titrator. It is a versatile, complete and rugged apparatus designed for stability and long life under continuous use. It should find wide application in both the research and t h e analytical laboratory. NEW
TITRATOR STAND— designed for speed and efficiency in
operation.
I n c o r p o r a t e s t h e f o l l o w i n g e x c l u s i v e features:
Silent magnetic stirring mechanism is built into beaker support. Eliminates mounting of any stirring apparatus above the beaker, a possible source of contamination from dropping dust, oil or metal particles. Driving motor, contained in the base of the titrator stand, is protected from dust and adds stability to the apparatus.
Adjustable-height electrode holder need not be moved when adding or removing beakers, but can be raised to accommodate large tall-form beakers and Erlenmeyer flasks. Entire assembly is grounded by means of a three-conductor rubbercovered cable which connects driving motor to 115 volt 50/60 cycle line.
LINE-OPERATED CONTINUOUSLY-READING DUAL PURPOSE METER Operates continuously from 115 volt 50/60 cycle line. Line variations compensated by meter circuit. A dual-purpose instrument, it has separately controlled circuits for the pH and the titration sections. Controls for ihe titration section do not affect the pH section; hence the meter can be left set up for both pH and titration work. Three scales appear on the dial: a pH scale reading 0-14 pH units, in tenths; a millivolt scale, 400 mv. to —400 mv; and an arbitrary scale divided into 100 parts for titrations. Sensitivity control permits adjustment of range of meter between 240 mv. and approximately 3.7 volts. Bucking potentiometer, operated from a small pen-light cell permits balancing out high starting potentials—in effect transposing the origin of the titration curve. End-points are observed directly on the meter scale, obviating the need for "magic eye" as used in potentiometric instruments.
