NITRIC ACID
Girdler nitric acid plants employ the well-known Ou Pont process, using highpressure catalytic oxidation, to produce nitric acid. These plants offer greater economy, in both investment and operating costs, than atmospheric or low-pressure units. With the high-pressure process 55%-60% nitric acid is produced with efficient use of catalysts, and with lower utility requirements.
