TESTS Assay (by Alkalimetry) and Clarity of Solution To check for clarity of solution, weigh accurately about 0.35 g, transfer to a beaker, and dissolve in 100 mL of water. The sample should dissolve completely, with heating and stirring if necessary, to produce a clear solution. For the assay, add 0.15 mL of phenolphthalein indicator solution, and titrate with 0.1 N sodium hydroxide. One milliliter of 0.1 N sodium hydroxide corresponds to 0.009557 g of C6H9O6N.
