In planning this series on biochemical analysis, a fundamental need was felt for emphasis on methodology and in strumentation in order for material achievement to keep in sight of the ad vance of useful ideas. The current vol ume is the latest in a continuing at tempt to satisfy that need. The book retains the international flavor of the series by virtue of the eight contribu tions to it from authors from a variety of countries. Among the topics covered arc immunoelectrophoretic analysis, spectrophotometry of translucent bio logical materials, assay of lipoprotein lipase in vivo and in vitro, determina tion of ethyl alcohol in blood and tissues, and determination of heparin. The number of references given at the end of the various chapters add up to about 925.
