Notably distinctive Pelargonic Acid More evidence that separates pelargonic from other short-chain monobasic acids.

lower melting points, and excellent color stability are just a few of the unique derivative benefits provided by pelargonic acid. Moreover, because it's produced from abun dantly available domestic raw materials, pelargonic acid has shown a favorable price stability compared to acids based on imported raw materials. What other short-chain acids can't do, notably distinctive pelargonic usually can.

Better liquid stabilizers — Various metallic salts of short-chain acids are used to prepare novel, liquid stabilizer systems in non-polar hydrocarbon solvents. Since oddcarbon saturated acids have greater solubility in these types of solvents than similar even-carbon length acids, pelargonic acid is the pre ferred short-chain acid for this application. High gloss metal deco inks — Esters of pelargonic acid are used to modify both gravure and letterpress inks to achieve viscosity control at high pigmentation levels. These liquid esters contribute to excellent hardness and gloss in ink systems as well as good overall color retention.

Such properties as color, color stability, and batch-to-batch uni formity are also improved due to the consistent high quality of pelargonic acid.

What makes Pelargonic Acid different? Emfac 1202® Pelargonic Acid, a nearly water white liquid monobasic acid with a saturated C9 odd-carbon structure, imparts many properties to its derivatives which are generally unattainable with naturally occurring short-chain monobasic acids. Better lowtemperature flexibility and fluidity,
