ACS National Meeting

Notices, Division of Chemical Education CHED Committee and Task Force Meetings, Chicago ACS Meeting Saturday through Tuesday of the week of the Chicago ACS meeting, several of the many CHED committees meet and most of the meetings are open. If you are interested in becoming more involved in the Division, this is a good way to find out areas in which you can contribute. (Unfortunately, the room assignments are not known at press time, but after July 20 check the CHED Web site http://divched.chem. wisc.edu/divched/ for the location and time of meetings you wish to attend.) The date and time for committee meetings tentatively planned for Chicago are below.

Volunteer for a CHED Committee If you are interested in serving on a Division committee, contact the chair of that committee or Conrad Stanitski, Mickey Sarquis, Jerry Sarquis, or Uni Susskind (Chair of Committee on Personnel and Nominations). Committee appointments for 2002 will be made early in the fall, so it is not too soon to indicate your interest or to nominate others. 2001 Elections Ballots for the 2001 election of Division officers will be mailed to arrive in late August or early September. Returned ballots must be received by the Treasurer by October 1, 2001. CHED members who are members of ACS and CHED Affiliate members will be able to vote for the office of Chairelect. Only those CHED members who are members of ACS will be eligible to vote for the Councilor/Alternate Councilor, since these offices require ACS membership.
