ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY, VOL. 42, NO. 2, FEBRUARY 1970

Model CKA-1A paramagnetic oxygen analyzer gives sensitivities better than 0.01% oxygen and accuracies of ±1%. The analyzer operates in ambient temperatures from 32 to 125 °F, at gas sample temperature up to 170 °F. Modern thermistor circuitry automatically compensates for changes in temperature. It is supplied in five ranges from 0-1% to 0-25%, and dual ranges are available. This continuous oxygen analyzer has a wide variety of unique probes and sample systems to adapt it to different applications in chemical processes and other combustion processes. $1250. Combustion Equipment Assoc., 124 E. 39th St., New York, N. Y. 10016. 212-889-4090 425

Plasma Generator

A full 3000 watts of high frequency power output at 40.68 MHz makes a new plasma generator ideal for low temperature (down to 100 °C) ashing. The generator has been developed for such applications as laboratory ashing of carboniferous material, cleaning silicone wafers in ionized oxygen, skeletonizing biological specimens, coating materials, electrodeless plasma research, ionizing other gases, and synthesizing $5500. Ionized gaseous compounds. Gas Technology, Div. Radio Frequency Co., 50 Park St., Medfield, Mass. 02052. 617-762-4900 426

Fiber Optics Tubes

Fiber optics image tubes that are so flexible you can tie them in knots without interrupting the proper transmission of the image are available in 1/4-in. square and V4 x V2-in. dimensions. One foot of the V4 X V4-in. lists for $25, additional lengths up to 15 ft are $20/ft; 1 ft of the V4 X 1/2-in. costs $35/ft. $40, additional lengths are Each tube consists of hundreds of 1/ 100th-in. diameter plastic fibers that divide the image into dots of light. Either end of the tubes can be used for viewing, and the resolution is comparable to a halftone photograph. For precision work a magnifying lens can be used to increase the resolution to 1/1000 in. Standard optical elements can be mounted at either end for special applications. Light loss is 25% per foot and 10% at the ends. Temperature up to 175 °F can be withstood.
