Now there is a BETTER liquid syringe. And... it LASTS !

Spectrophotometer.

The operation and application of this instrument, which provides a method for accurately determining the reac tion rate of chemicals, is discussed in Bulletin 130, eight pages. Durrum In strument Corp., 3950 Fabian Way, Palo Alto, Calif. 601 Precision Glass. Glassware for the chemical and the hospital laboratory is listed in this 32-page catalog. Ideal Precision Glass, P. O. Box 287, Indus trial Rd., Carlstadt, N. J. 602

IT'S CALLED THE SERIES " C " PRESSURELOK Liquid Syringe,* and no other syringe can approach it where reliable perform ance is concerned. Its new teflon-tipped plunger assures you of greater reproduci bility because it starts out leak-tight and it stays leak-tight (up to 150 psi). This plunger cannot "freeze-up". It doesn't grind or wear against the barrel, as ordi nary syringe plungers do. Because plung er wear is virtually eliminated, the useful life of the syringe is greatly extended Furthermore, plungers are interchange able within a given size range, and re placements may be ordered from stock Sizes from 10 ul to 100 ul. Reproduci bility adapters, plunger guides and other options available. Try a better liquid syringe . . . Pressure-Lok Series " C " .

Balances. Analytical and top-loading balances and the new micrcntorque models are illustrated and discussed in Bulletin BR 176, 44 pages. Brinkmann Instruments, Inc., Westbury, N.Y. 11590 603 Mass Spectrometers. This 32-page catalog includes basic theory, applica tions, and specifications on all time-offlight mass spectrometers and accesso ries. The Bendix Corp., Scientific In struments & Vacuum Division, 3625 Hauck Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45241 604

Radioactive Chemicals. Over 850 la beled compounds, including carbon-14, tritium, phosphorus-32, sulfur-35, and chlorine-36, are listed in Catalog N , 60 pages. New England Nuclear Corp., 575 Albany St., Boston, Mass. 02118 605

"Teflon" Is a registered Dupont Trademark

Cell Calibration. Two methods to measure the pathlength of infrared ab sorption cells are described in this data sheet. Barnes Engineering Co., 30 Commerce Rd., Stamford, Conn. 06902 606 Flame Photometric System. Bulletin AB 110, four pages, describes a dualpurpose flame photometric detector for use in gas chromatography. The in strument gives specific response to phosphorus or sulfur-containing com pounds in the flame photometric mode, with simultaneous response to hydro carbon fractions in a regular flame ionization mode.
