What will a doforyou? A number of things: 1. It will analyze the output of a variety of laboratory instruments. (Chromatographs, spectrometers, spectrophotometers, physical testing machines.) 2. It will provide a more efficient data reduction system because data is collected off-line by high-performance recorders. (Each laboratory instrument can now have access to a computer. The amount of data collected is limited only by the number of recorders.) 3. The 7700 can undertake routine analysis without computer interface. However, optimized data manipulation is available by conversing with the computer. (Conversing is via Teletype. You needn't be a computer expert to take advantage of all the 7700's capabilities.) 4. A separate software program is provided for each laboratory instrument. This means the entire computer capacity can be devoted to a particular analysis. (All equipment for data processing is contained in the 7700. There are no wires to any other equipment other than the Teletype.)
