The business end of our new light element detector. ι Remote Window Change— con venient window selection for light element analysis.

ι Tighter X-Ray Geometry — smaller probe diarrv eter and shorter specimen-todetector distance for improved effi ciency.

It lets you see BORON. ι Simultaneous Multi-element Analysis — light element and heavy element analysis without peaksearching or crystal-changing.

ι Vacuum Protec tion — motorized control with built-in safeguards pre vents accidental vacuum loss, fail ure, or contamina tion.

ECON III is a quantum jump improvement in light element analysis, gained from the experience of more than 200 users worldwide of our ECON II, the first successful "windowless" detecting unit for energy-dispersive X-ray analysis. Improvements noted above are the direct outcome of this experience — an accumulation gained from more than seven years in light element detection. ECON III gives you light element analysis with lower beam currents, less chance of contaminating or damaging your specimen, less specimen preparation (e.g. specimen need not be flat), and rapid convenient analysis on almost any SEM or microprobe down to BORON (Atomic No. 5). As with all EDAX equipment and accessories, ECON III is backed by a worldwide network of engineering, service and application support that is second to none. For complete information on the ECON III and other EDAX X-ray analytical instruments, call or write EDAX International, Inc., P.O. Box 135, 103 Schelter Rd., Prairie View, Illinois 60069, 312-634-0600. In Europe, EDAX Europe b.v., Pastoorslaan 28, 2182 BX Hillegom, Holland, telephone 2520/21650, telex 41656.
