and technology.
T h e p a r t i c i p a n t s i n t h e conference differed w i d e l y i n t h e
reasons f o r t h e i r i n t e r e s t i n ozone.
B u t t h e h i g h l e v e l a n d e n t h u s i a s t i c response
from
300 r e g i s t r a n t s , w h i c h v a s t l y exceeded o u r e x p e c t a t i o n s , a t t e s t e d t o a n effective i n t e r c h a n g e of ozone k n o w l e d g e . W e h a d h o p e d t o receive a sufficient n u m b e r of p a p e r s t o o c c u p y t h r e e d a y s o f single sessions.
B u t so m a n y w o r t h - w h i l e p a p e r s were s u b m i t t e d — o v e r 6 0 — t h a t t h e
conference w a s s c h e d u l e d i n t r i p l e c o n c u r r e n t
sessions.
T h e e v e n t m a r k e d t h e first o c c a s i o n f o r a n i n t e r n a t i o n a l exchange of i n f o r m a t i o n c o n c e r n i n g ozone in b o t h science a n d t e c h n o l o g y .
