Introducing THE 7300/7400 SERIES PACKARD GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY SYSTEMS. THE FIRST M U L T I - P U R P O S E S Y S T E M S FOR ANALYTICAL OR PREPARATIVE W O R K Whether they're used for sensitive analysis at picogram levels or for preparative separation of milligram and larger quantities, these new gas chromatographs meet every need of the most demanding chromatographer. Designed for dual column, single or dual channel operation, they are the most versatile systems available.

T W O O V E N STYLES Exclusive! Choice of two air-cooled, low mass ovens! Model 805 can be used for analytical or preparative work . . accepts U-shaped columns or loosely coiled regular columns from 2 to 26 ft. long, and special prepara tive columns up to 10mm. in diame ter and 24 ft. long. Model 804 oven uses coiled columns for analytical or preparative work. Operating tempera ture range of each oven is from ambi ent to 500 'C; safety cutoff switch limits maximum temperature to 550 °C.

A U T O M A T I C HEATING A N D COOLING Exclusive! Continuously functional, truly automatic door operation is an integral part of the oven temperature control system. Temperature equilib rium is achieved faster on both heat ing and cooling cycles—enablesfaster program repetition and eliminates temperature lags during programming. Efficient forced air ventilation sys tem will cool the oven from 300°C to 50°C in just 5 minutes.

DIRECT-READING TEMPERATURE CONTROLS Exclusive! Inlet, oven and detector heaters all have direct-reading digital set points—no pyrometer is used. Temperature settings are accurately calibrated by cold junction to ± 1 °C over the entire 500° range . . . oven temperature is held stable within ± 0.2°C. Deviation-type temperature controls provide heater output proportional to demand, minimizing temperature overshoot. VARIABLE HIGH VOLTAGE SUPPLY Exclusive ! Stable, solid state, bi-polar power supply may be regulated from 0.1 to 1,000 volts . . . allows use of optimum voltages on any detector. Stability is better than 0.05% over 90-130 volts.·
