aqueous, and very stable.

it's concentrated.

Highly concentrated (91-95%). Para requires none of the tanks, pumps and other equipment needed for liquid formaldehydes. Means big savings in the cost of new plants—or modernizing older ones. Most important, though, para allows greater flexibility in resin formulation—more than any other formaldehyde. Its low water content results in larger batches and higher yields in shorter processing time. Para is a good choice for producers of high solids urea, melamine or phenolic resins. And perfect for resorcinols.

Stabilized aqueous formaldehyde was first developed by Celanese, and now improved through patented organic s t a b i l i z i n g systems. Which effectively retard paraformation, making possible shipment and storage at lower temperatures, with greater economy. And Celanese stabilized solutions have less build-up of acids, which means longer life for your storage and handling equipment, lower maintenance costs. Very practical advantages, indeed.

Only Celanese offers all four forms of

so there's very little for you to take out.

In fact, there's so little water in our Formcels that many users find it unnecessary to distill any off. So processing is faster. Instead of a lot of water in Formcels, we use alcohols. And end up with a nice, stable form of formaldehyde with most of the processing fuss and bother removed. Very handy if you produce alcoholated resins. We now offer two grades of methyl Formcel—containing 46.5% and 55% formaldehyde: π-butyl Formcel—40%; isobutyl Formcel—40%.

trioxane. a solid choice. Celanese trioxane is the only source of anhy drous formaldehyde. We ship it in solid blocks, in handy polyethylene containers.

Let us help you choose the right formaldehyde in terms of both process and economics. As the only producer of all four forms of formaldehyde, we've naturally analyzed many aspects of process ing and cost. We can show you why the cheapest form may not be the best for your process—why raw material cost is not the only criterion for best resin economics. And, with Celanese volume production, fastmoving terminal and shipping facilities, you al ways get what you order, when you want it. This is part of Celanese's marketing service that helps keep your inventories in balance. Let us prove it to you —right now. Celanese Chemical Company, Dept. 554-J, 522 Fifth Ave., New York 36, N.Y.
