Monsanto, 111., plant of Monsanto Chemical Co., has been promoted t o assistant general manager of the Organic Chemicals Division with headquarters in St. Louis. Succeeding him as plant manager at Monsanto, 111., is William G. Kruinmrich, who has been manufacturing superintendent of that operation, one of Monsanto's larger chemical producing units. Increasing activity demanded by the operations of the Organic Chemicals Division, which includes plants at Monsanto, HI., St. Louis, Mo., Norfolk, Va., and Nitro, W. Va., necessitated additional management supervision. Samuel Cottrell, assistant manufacturing superintendent, has been promoted to manufacturing superintendent for inorganic chemicals, and Robert M . Sanford, supervisor, to manufacturing superintendent for organic chemicals. Paul Tompkins, assistant supervisor of the Phenol Department, will be promoted to the position of assistant to the plant manager.
