THIS METER
...gives you a three-minute measurement of water quality If you wish to measure the quality of surface water, sewage, or effluent from treatment plants or processes, one of the most reliable ways is to measure its oxygen demand The best way to do this is with a Philips Total Oxygen Demand (TOD) Meter. There are other ways of course. Biochemical Oxygen Demand [BODs) is one. Based on the oxidation of organics by micro-organisms, it takes five days. Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) is another. Based on oxidation with chemicals, it takes two hours. Both require skilled operators and special techniques. Neither method is practical for continuous, automatic monitoring. This one is. The Philips PW 9625 TOD Meter uses the high-temperature properties of a pair of zirconium oxide cells to measure the
oxygen consumed during the combustion of all oxidizable matter in a water sample, and expresses the result directly in mg OVIitre. No handling. No reagents. No calibration. No zero-drift. No maintenance for two months or more. In the laboratory, or in the field, it gives you a highly accurate and reproducible
measurement of Total Oxygen Demand in less than three minutes. May we send you the full story? Philips Industries Pollution Monitoring Department Building TQ-lll-4 Eindhoven, .The Netherlands
