PHILLIPS MEDAL AWARDS The eighteenth and nineteenth Francis C. Phillips medals in chemistry were awarded in the University of Pittsburgh at the Scholars Day exercises on March 13th. This medal is awarded annually to the candidate for the B.S. degree in chemistry who has the finest record during his undergraduate residence. Messrs. John J. Griffith and George W. Gerhardt, both members o f Pittsburgh families, rated so closely that a medal was awarded to each.
