TOTAL AUTOMATION We've taken the proven design of our Model 2100A Orr Surface-Area PoreVolume Analyzer and totally automated it. We call it the DigiSorb 2500.

A wide variety of materials can be analyzed utilizing the classical, static, low-temperature, gas-adsorption (BET) technique. Specific surface areas greater than 0.001 m2/gm can be determined using krypton and nitrogen as the adsorbates. Adsorption-desorption isotherms, pore volumes, and pore size and volume distributions can also be determined. Any of these analyses can be accomplished while the DigiSorb 2500 automatically outgasses and preconditions additional samples for subsequent analysis.

Requiring less than 10% of one technician's time, this remarkable automatic instrument can accomplish more than two full-time technicians with three manual analyzers. It's faster, more economical, and it virtually eliminates the possibility of operator error. All an operator has to do is weigh the sample and select the analysis to be performed. The DigiSorb 2500 does the rest. It totally automates the process of gas adsorption-desorption isotherm measurement, surface area analysis, and pore volume analysis. The DigiSorb 2500 will automatically evacuate the sample, fill and maintain a Dewar with liquid nitrogen, determine the saturation pressure of the selected adsorbate, and measure the free space around the sample. It will then apply the adsorbate optimized for predetermined relative pressure points, determine adsorption equilibration, and type out the pertinent information, including calculated results. Up to five samples can be analyzed consecutively.

The DigiSorb 2500 can operate 24hours a day, seven days a week. And it is equipped with an automatic power failure feature that puts the instrument into a standby mode for up to four hours if there is any interruption of power. When power is restored, the DigiSorb 2500 recycles into operation and resumes the analysis . . . with no data loss. There are many more interesting and unique features you should know about the DigiSorb 2500. See the DigiSorb 2500 on display at the 1972 Pittsburg h Conference in booths 101-104. We wi 11 also be displaying our complete family of instruments for characterizing the physical properties of materials, including the SediGraph 5000 Particle Size Analyzer and our line of Mercury Penetration Porosimeters.
