Solid a n d double wedge discs of gate valves are interchangeable. They are precision machined and f i t t e d , and are accurately guided t h r o u g h o u t their entire travel. This prevents d r a g of the disc over t h e seat faces, eliminating wear of seating surfaces a n d stops undue vibrational noises.

O.S. & Y . Valves—Stems are threaded a n d guided t h r o u g h a bronze bushing in u p p e r y o k e . (Bushings made of other alloys can be supplied on special order.) A compression lubricant f i t t i n g in upper yoke is provided to lubricate t h e s t e m and bushing t h r e a d s and to reduce wear. A convenient shelf is cast on t h e inner sides of yoke a r m s for s u s p e n d i n g t h e gland when renewing t h e packing. All 1 5 0 # valves are regularly packed with Teflon Packing. Globe, Angle a n d " Y " valves are available with metal or Teflon discs.
