All reactions common to primary amines apply to PRIMENE 8lll$. In addition, the bulky t-alfc^l group often makes steric contirol possible. Typical syntheses ar^: (1) hydroxyalkylation to yield aminoalcohols, (2) cyanoethy|ation followed by reductive &£drogenation to give diamines/ (3) reaction with formaldehyde|fo give stable aldimines (straigintchain amines give unstable aldimines). \
