This is an unretouched photograph of chloride-ion stresscorrosion cracking. The alloy shown has good resistance to general corrosion by chlorides. However, in the presence

of chlorides at stresses as low as 2000 psi and temperatures as low as 140 °F., it has a tendency to crack. INCOLOY alloy 800 resists this type of stress-corrosion cracking.

If you're having heat exchanger tubing problems caused by chlorides in river or industrial cooling waters, specify t u b i n g of INCOLOY alloy 800.
