Prof, A. R. Leeds in the chair. The minutes of the meeting of January 8th were read and approved. The report of the Committee on Nomenclature was read by the Chairman, Prof. Breneman ; after discussion it was ordered that the report be printed and submitted to all members of the society for discussion and suggestions before being published in the Journal. Mr. Wilfrid T. Skaife, of the Canada Sugar Refinery, Montreal, Canada, was elected a regular member. The following proposals for membership were read, vie. : Dr. Bennett F. Davenport, 751 Tremont street, Boston, Mass. Prof. Charles W. Parsons, of the New York College of Pharmacy; and Mr. Edward W. Martin, the Rutland, 57th street and Broadway, New York. The adjourned discussion of the following papers was then taken up : Chemical, experimental and biological inquiries in connection with the present and proposed future water supply of the city of Albany, by Dr. A. R. Leeds. Some contributions to the Study of the New York City Water Supply ; by A. A. Breneman, S. B. Messrs. Wainwright, Stebbins and Breneman were appointed a committee t.0 suggest a plan for the furtherance of investigation by appointment of committees to report upon special subjects. A meeting of the Board of Directors was called for Tuesday, February gth, at 8 P. M., in the Libtary. The meeting was then adjourned. C. E. MUNSELL, Recording Secretary.
