Pluracol® 463 polyol makes possible commercially ac­ ceptable, competitively priced flame-retardant insulating foams for construction applications. The ASTM E84 tun­ nel test (pictured here) is an important measure of a material's flammability. Several Pluracol-based foam products have been awarded < 2 5 flame-spread labels and are in commercial production. Foams made with Pluracol 463 couple flame resistance with excellent strength, weatherability, low water absorption, dimen­ sional stability and sound deadening . . . they meet building codes; promise low-cost insurance ratings.

In our nucleonics laboratory, fabric swatches tagged with radioactive clay-sebum soils are washed in formulations based upon Wyandotte surfactants and related products. Soil removal and soil redeposition are precisely meas­ ured by the amount of residual radioactivity detected by a Geiger counter. Tests like these literally assure effec­ tive performance of our Plurafac® syndets and Carbose® CMC in properly formulated detergent products.
