Investlgatlonson the effect of slllca gel partlcle size on the dlffuse reflectance Infrared Fourler transform spectrum lndlcated that the Intensity of the SI-0 comblnatlon band at 1870 cm-’ was the least affected by partlcle size. Hence, It was chosen as the reference band. The magnltude and preclslon of the ratios of the CH and NH stretch bands of (t-amlnopropy1)trlethoxysllane (APTS) to this slllca band were found to Increase when the particle size of slllca gel was reduced to 150 pm
