Chemistry for Everyone
Quote Boxes for Chemistry Teachers Dave Olney P. O. Box 559, Mattapoisett, MA 02739;
[email protected] (Retired from Lexington High School, Lexington, MA)
In a quote box, letters are chosen and dropped vertically down each column (but not necessarily in the order in which they appear) into the empty squares in the grid, thus making up words. Each letter can be used only once. For example, in the warm-up grid below, the very first letter will be either a T or an I. A completed quote box will—reading from left to right and line by line—spell out a quotation of some interest. Words may continue from one line to the next; black squares indicate the spaces between words.
