that day9 when red oil was removed from allocation, was a red letter day for the many users who were forced by shortages to turn to less desirable substitutes. Al though substitutes have done a perfectly splendid job in keeping production up to wartime demands, there never has been any doubt that red oil is the best raw material for many detergents and emulsifying agents. Emery's red oils (oleic acids) are produced iii saponified and distilled grades over a wide range of titre and color . . . for example, Special Extra Thin Elaine has a titre of less than 3° C. and a light amber color· And because of improved manufacturing tech nique, it is now available the year-round. The stimulus for the production of red oils with special characteristics often comes from the prospective user who knows his own requirements. . . from you, perhaps. If you'll write us and tell us these require ments, we'll be glad to let you know whether we have, or can produce, the specific red oil that will help you in currentor future production.
