Although other types of ir-reference bean attenuators have been ~ thought it to he useful t o present one presented in THIS J O U R N Awe with professional performrtnce which we use in our research work and which is very easy t o make. An iron toolaf about 0.4 mm thickness and side dimensions adapted to spectraphotometer t o be used, is cut in as represented by the figure. Subsequently, the blsdes are twisted over 90' while the end is firmly held with s grip. The front view shows that the blades become comb shmed.
