liÉliraral tension Surface tension, that is. We're not suggesting there's a use for "Fluorad" Surfactant in a hot tub-we wouldn't recommend it. But to reduce surface tension in both aqueous and organic industrial systems we highly recommend "Fluorad" Surfactants. Only 3M offers you a family of fifteen "Fluorad" Surfactant formulations that will dramatically reduce surface tension values in a multitude of applications -wetting, etching, cleaning, foaming, plating, rinsing, dispersing, coating, etc. "Fluorad" Surfactants can reduce

surface tension to about 20 dynes/ cm in organic media including solvents of both high and low polarity, and coating resins such as epoxies, acrylics, polyesters and urethanes. In some aqueous systems "Fluorad" Surfactants can reduce surface tensions to less than 16 dynes/cm. Use them in a variety of aqueous media over a wide pH range. And if hot acid has you in hot water, relax. Selected "Fluorad" Surfactants are chemically and thermally stable, even downright rugged. Some products can withstand temperatures of up to 600°F and remain

effective in hostile environments such as hot chromic acid, hot caustic soda, and hot concentrated sulfuric acid, Affordable, too. Typical usage in aqueous systems is .01% or less of the active fluorochemical surfactant. Use-levels of 50 parts per million are not unusual. To get you started, we'd like to send you some very comprehensive technical literature on "Fluorad" Surfactants. Test samples are also available. Send an outline of your problem and needs to Dept. J4L, Commercial Chemicals Division/3M, 3M Center, St. Paul, MN 55101.
