ir: In Zhou et al.,1 the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second order (P−S−O), and Elovich equations are applied for sorption kinetics of crystal violet to modified cellulose, and the linear form of the P−S−O is written as2 t 1 1 = + t 2 qt qe k 2qe (1) When t → 0, the adsorption rate can be written as h = k 2qe 2

where eq 2 is just a mathematical simplification of eq 1 under the condition of t → 0. Nevertheless, it has also been defined by Ho in 1995 as the initial adsorption rate.3
