MFPA Revises N a t i o n a l Electrical Code The revised edition of the National Fire Protection Association's "National Electri c a l Code" was published on Sept. 1. In i t s revised form, the new code is the re sult of a broad sampling of t h e opinion a n d experience of industry inspection au thorities, fire officials, and other interested groups. Significant changes are proposed for the section dealing with hazardous locations. Recognition has been given to positivepressure ventilation arrangements to re duce the area considered hazardous when such ventilation is safeguarded by effec tive means. Definitions of hazardous at mospheres are also more closely delineated t o aid i n applying the rules. NSC Chemical Section Requests Displays f o r G a d g e t Session A gadget session to show solutions to safety problems where suitable devices are not commercially available will be held by the chemical section at t b e National Safety Congress on Oct. 20. T h e section hopes to stimulate further ingenuity in the plants of those attending, as well as to pass on ideas already developed. A number of gadgets have been collected during the past year, but more a r e needed.
