MFPA Revises N a t i o n a l Electrical Code The revised edition of the National Fire Protection Association's "National Electri­ c a l Code" was published on Sept. 1. In i t s revised form, the new code is the re­ sult of a broad sampling of t h e opinion a n d experience of industry inspection au­ thorities, fire officials, and other interested groups. Significant changes are proposed for the section dealing with hazardous locations. Recognition has been given to positivepressure ventilation arrangements to re­ duce the area considered hazardous when such ventilation is safeguarded by effec­ tive means. Definitions of hazardous at­ mospheres are also more closely delineated t o aid i n applying the rules.
