SCHLUMBERGER NMR

Analyzer

Corn Products Refining Company at Argo, Illinois, reports substantial savings after using Model 104 Schlumberger NMR Analyzer for more than two years. Test results were reproducible within ±0.1%. This non-destructive analysis gives the answers in permanent record form, in less than a minute. It handles large (40cc) samples, enables an unskilled operator to make 250 moisture tests in eight hours. Answers are fast enough to directly control drying processes...fast enough to inspect incoming raw materials before acceptance. With the NMR Analyzer, the final product is improved by tighter quality control. If your profits are exposed to "water damage," you will find it worthwhile to review a s p e c i a l f i l e on t h e NMR Analyzer. This file covers economic justification, technical data, actual material study reports, quality control, production, and inspection applications. It is available to you at no cost and without obligation. Write for it today on your business letterhead. RIDGEFIELD INSTRUMENTATION DIVISION

détermination of P, S, and C as well as all other elements important in the iron and steel industry. A complete analysis of iron and steel is provided in less than 2 minutes, the manufacturer states. Permanent, inked records show concentrations of all elements in desired units. Studies showing the correlation between certified chemical analysis and Quantometer analysis provide results superior to any previous determinations of this nature. P-27 Capsule-Size Mercury Switch A capsule-size mercury switch that weighs only 1.8 grams with leads attached is introduced by Micro Switch, division of Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Co. The tiny switch, which is claimed to offer sensitive, trouble-free operation, is designed for use in computers and other devices where a minimum of operating energy is available and space is limited. Extremely low shift of mass involved in actuation facilitates gang-mounted

assemblies. The switch (designated AS419AI) may be mounted in any position through 360° around its longitudinal axis. It may be actuated by slow, snap, or fast-tilting action. Contact arrangement is single-pole single-throw. The switch is electrically rated for a resistive load of 1 ampere, 30 volts a.c. or d.c, 0.5 ampere, 110 volts or 0.75 ampere, 110 volts d.c. On inductive loads it is rated at 0.75 ampere, 30 volts a.c. or d.c. with inrush at 2V2 times full load. P-28 Submicron Filter The Barnstead Still and Sterilizer Co. announces its Model MF-25 submicron filter for use in laboratory work, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and wherever exceptionally pure water is desired. The unit is for use primarily with distilled or demineralized water, where it removes particulate matter down to 0.45 micron. The filter media is Millipore cellulose ester membrane. Standard units are constructed of bronze lined with
