The works of Dalton, Mendeleev, Le Chatelier, and others who have done the landmark experiments in chemistry are usually found amone such descri~tious. The theoretical work of such persons as Bohr also occupies a prominent place in the description of chemistrv. Even that theoretical work, however, is aimed at describing phenomena which are nearly inextrical,lr from experimentation.
