The SKALAR SANplusSystem Completely Soil, Plant and Fertilizer Automates the Following Chemistries:

Food & Beverage Increasing Consumer awareness of health and hygiene in the last decade has put increased pressures on the laboratories of food and beverages manufacturers. This has increased the need for high throughput routine analysis in the food QC lab. The Skalar SAN ""'system is used in the analysis of dairy products, beer, wine, juices, soft drinks, meat and other canned products. The flexibility of the Flow technique is well suited for these complex analysis procedures. A variety of sample clean-up procedures can be automated for the analysis using a Photometer, Flourimeter, HPLC, AAS, Density meter, Refractometer, pH meter. The unique approach to enzymatic analysis using combined Minibore - Microbore modules eliminates the need for extensive sample/ reagent preparation, resulting in major cost savings for the user. Many beer QC labs use the Skalar SAN"" System for automating tedious extractions for Bitterness with pH, Color, Ethanol, S02 and others. In keeping with stringent European regulations, Skalar has developed over 30 automated, proven procedures for wine analysis on the SAN ""'system. For meat and solid food samples, the Skalar Block digestor provides sample pretreatment for further automation for hydroxypfoline, Protein (Nitrogen), Calcium, m.s.g. and others. Soil, Plant and Fertilizer analysis is increasingly performed in research to control fertilization and crop quality. The Skalar analysis can cope with all the requirements of these types of laboratories either as a big multichannel analyzer for complete anion - cation balance or as a nutrient analyzer for from 10-20 samples a day to over 3000. As an example, for fertilities control, the simultaneous analysis of NPK is automated with very high accuracy using the excellent performance of the matrix detector and a highly stable flame photometer. General Industry Water Analysis The Skalar approach with the SAN ""'Automatic Flow Analyzer is to provide fully supported, EPA-approved chemistry systems completely customized, configured and applications engineered for the user. Start-up, shut-down and change-over is fast with total automation. Different ranges and matrices of the water, i.e. drinking, ground, surface, sea, or effluents can be analyzed under complete automation with the unique Matrix detector and flowcell. The versatile modules also provide completely automated analysis of CN, Phenols, DOC and other complicated chemistries using the on-line distillation and UV digestion stages. (For more Information circle 152.)

The flexibility of the SAN ""'system is well suited to pharmaceutical, detergent, chemical, steel and other general industries desiring a routine QC instrument that can start up and shut down automatically and be able to run day and night without supervision, with high throughput and low downtime. The applications support R&D, QA, QC or the Effluent labs in these industries. The accuracy, precision, low coefficient of variation, and recoveries obtained by the SAN""'system make it essential to almost any industry. (For more Information circle 154.)
