PENNSTOP But for those who demand

Some will try to get alona without it.

exceptional anti-corrosion qualities, Elf Atochem offers a multi-purpose amine: DEHA

(diethylhydroxylamine),

the principal constituent of PENNSTOP®. Due to its chemical properties, DEHA is a highly efficient corrosion inhibitor and gives PENNSTOP® excellent oxygen scavenger properties in boiler water treatment. Moreover, PENNSTOP® maintains these efficient corrosion inhibitor properties at very low concentrations in water, thereby eliminating all risks to the end user. Elf Atochem's

know-how,

inherited from Pennwalt, ensures the efficiency of your installations. PENNSTOP® is just one of a wide range of amines (ISO 9002) produced by Elf Atochem, a world leader in this market. For further information, please contact Bernard Chaloupy, Tel.

characteristics

· an efficient low dosage chemical reducer,

PENNSTOP® : • eliminates the oxygen dissolved in boiler water; • is water soluble; • is sufficiently volatile to protect downstream installations; • does not affect the salinity of water; • is more thermally stable than most of its competitors; • is a good passivator of the entire system, including the condensate circuit; • is a metallic oxide reducer; • used in normal concentration, is without risk for the end user; • dosage is easily controlled in water. · the degree of toxicity of PENNSTOP® is considerably lower than

most other antioxidants currently commercialy available. Toxicity classification: • by inhalation CL 50/rat = 3,140 ppm/4h (8.3 mg/l) • absorbtion through skin DL 50/rabbit = 1,300 mg/Kg Low toxicity by ingestion: DL 50/rat = 2,190 mg/Kg Prolonged inhalation - No long term effect noted in animals. I can be stored in stainless steel (grade 304 ou 316), PENNSTOP®

remains stable both in a nitrogen atmosphere and in normal conditions. Copper-based materials, aluminium and zinc must not be used.

Packaging : • in PE drums - net weight 185 Kg. • in returnable 1000 litre containers.
