The excitation source, ICP or DCP, is simply one component of a total analytical system. The source is com plemented by a monochromator and a detection array. SpectraMetrics offers you a choice,high-resolution DCP or ICP emission systems. Sample types, chemical matrices, and elements ana lyzed govern the source chosen. More critical in the final analysis is the systems' monochromator, more specifi cally spectral resolution. And that is where the SpectraSpan family outstrips the competition. The reason our competitors never talk about resolution is simple; their conven tional, medium resolution plasma emis sion systems can't resolve wavelengths as the SpectraSpans' Echelle mono chromator can. Their answer to the question "What do I do when your medium resolution system can't resolve the lines that I want to use?" is "Choose other lines." Lines that are neither as sensitive nor as linear as your first choice. You just have to com promise. Compromise??...Never!

Furthermore, we give you the choice; High-Resolution DCP, High Resolution ICP, a High-Resolution ICP-MAES that complies with the proposed amendment to the Clean Water Act of 1979, and an ICP system for general analyses.

With the Echelle you can resolve those lines that medium resolution instruments can't.High-resolution combined with the high-dispersion of the Echelle system virtually eliminates spectral overlap.Ask a competitor to do the scan at the right.

So compromise... Ν EVER, not with a SpectraSpan System, because at SpectraMetrics we will accomodate you in never compromising when it comes to resolultion. For our demonstrative report on resolution please circle the number or write for,"Resolution-A Comparison of Spectral Bandpasses".
