STAND FOR CRWKES TUBES

FRED Y . HERRON University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburg%, Pennsylvania

TEE illustration sho~vs a convenient stand for Crookes tubes which avoids delay and confusion in connecting and disconnecting mires. When the tube is placed on the stand, two brass rods, which extend through the wooden base, make contact with the two brass plates on the stand, which in turn are connected to the terminals of the induction coil. The stand can, in fact, he mounted directly on top of the coil.
