Storage ot Laboratory Wash Bottles Items that do not have a well-defined storage place are often difficult to find when needed. In thelaboratory, this is especially true of frequently used community items such as wash bottles containing distilled water, acetone, soap solution, etc. We have found that a set-up composed of two appropriately sized ring clamps attached to the lattice-rod assembly, as shown in the diagram, provides an excellent place to keep wash hottles that are used by the entire class. Students know exactly where to find and where to return these bottles. Since the use of this storage method makes the wash bottles more visihle, it is easier to notice if a bottle is empty or missing. Also, it leaves a less cluttered, and thus easier to clean, benchtop.
