Struthers Scientific Krystal® crystallization process modifies shape of urea crystals from standard needle type to block type, makes product easier to handle during processing. Recent application of process, which produces pure urea crystals that can be prilled with a low Biuret content, was built by Chemical Construction Corporation for A/B Svenska Salpeterverken in Sweden.
STRUTHERS SCIENTIFIC ENGINEERS COMPLETE UREA CRYSTALLIZATION PLANTS
Block-type urea crystals...low Biuret content...free flowing...easily and economically handled... that's what Struthers Scientific engineering can do for you. The new Struthers Scientific crystallization process provides pure crystals of urea with a Biuret content of less than 0.2 per cent. This crystalline material is then returned to solution and fed to the Prilling Tower. This is the most efficient and economical method for purification of a feed to a Prilling Tower. It also produces an intermediate crystalline product which is easily handled and can be sold as a crystalline product rather than as fertilizer grade. Struthers Scientific Krystal® crystallization know-how can be engineered into complete plants, like the one above, designed and built to specific customer requirements, or phased into existent installations. Struthers Scientific engineers Krystal® crystallizer plants in all capacity ranges, including multiple-effect systems and combinations of evaporator-crystallizers and evaporators to meet your needs. At our pilot plant facilities, Struthers Scienticfic crystallization know-how combines with creative engineering to solve your process problems. For further information on the entire range of Struthers Scientific capabilities and technical data, write us on your letterhead for our Krystal® brochure.
