Synthesis and Characterization of Uranium(V) Fluoride Fluorosulfates and Uranium(V) Oxyfluorosulfate: UF3(S03F)2,UF(S03F)4, and UO(S03F)3 J. P. MASSON, C . NAULIN, P. CHARPIN, and R. BOUGON* Received August 30, 1977

The new uranium(V) fluoride fluorosulfate compounds UF3(S03F),!and UF(S03F), and uranium(V) oxyfluorosulfate UO(S03F), have been synthesized. UF3(S03F)2,a pale green solid, resulted from the reaction of UF5 and S206F2in CFC1, at 40 OC for 20 days; under these conditions the solvent also reacted and was partly transformed into CFC120S02Fand CF2C12. The beige solid UF(SOjF), was prepared by mixing UF, and SOj in CFC13 at low temperature (
