Which meant we had to expand production capacity significantly. Well, that's exactly what we did. In our biggest expansion program ever, The Little Chemical Giant™
boosted annual production capacity by 1V4 billion pounds—to just about double our 1976 capacity. In Petrothene® high density polyethylene, for example, capacity is now 500 million pounds. In Petrothene low density polyethylene, 735 million pounds. In YAM™ vinyl acetate monomer, 600 million pounds. And, to make sure that our vinyl acetate plant has a dependable source of supply, we
notcheap built one: a new 600-millionpounds-per-year acetic acid plant. Even with all this growing, we've never been too busy to stay in tune with your special needs. We've always tried to come through for our customers in times of shortage, for instance. Or when someone needed an emergency shipment. A modified compound for some unique requirement.
