TEMPETTE WITH SOLID STATE CONTROL Now a 3γ 2 pound portable water bath controller that will maintain temperature stability of ±0.2°C, and a range from ambient to 95°C. Built in pump allows water to be circulated through external apparatus. Solid State virtually elim inates micro-switch burn out. This mini aturized controller is a remarkably ac curate and dependable unit. Circle No. 88 on Readers' Service Card

Model ET-l-ER electronic balance has digital readout with a 1 mg accuracy and special remote control design. The balance may be used with or with out the lift-off windshield. Reading errors are prevented by electronic readout of every digit, and the ab sence of optical elements solves the problem of browning caused by nu clear radiation environments. Ca pacity of the balance is 160 grams; precision, ±0.5 mg; and digital dis play, to the nearest 1 mg. Torsion Balance Co., Clifton, N. J. 07013 419

Infrared Spectrophotometer Model 111 GC-IR spectrophotometer employs micro-light pipe absorption cells to provide high resolution spectra of the smallest possible samples. The temperature of the sample handling portion of the instrument may be con trolled up to 250° C and 0.02 μ1 of sample in the light pipe will ordinarily produce a strong spectrum. With scale expansion, samples an order of mag nitude smaller can be identified. Re cording spectra of GC fractions in the vapor phase eliminates losses caused by collection and transfer of micro samples. Automatic Zero Shifter This zero suppression system is de signed to be used with any instrument with a low level output signal. I t auto matically detects when the signal goes off scale in either direction, shifts the signal back on scale with a precise voltage, and counts the number of shifts. The instrument was primarily designed for use with Cahn recording electrobalances. It can, however, be used to keep thermocouple and trans ducer signals and gas chromatograph and mass spectrometer peaks on scale. Here is your answer for maintaining subambient temperatures, down to 0°C in an uninsulated water bath at a reasonable cost. Several coils are available to provide the best performance for you. Used with any of our Automatic Tempera ture Controllers (such as the one above), this unit will add tremendous versatility to any laboratory water bath.

With the four sizes of GLOW-BOX now avail able you can select a light box to suit your requirements. The smaller sizes of GLOW-BOX, 8V2" χ 1 1 " and 1 1 " χ 17", are convenient for tracing or comparing graphs, charts, curves, that are drawn on standard graph paper. These boxes fit into your desk drawer for storage or use. The two larger models can be used with longer UV, IR spectra. Model No. 12-24L accommodates charts up to 24" long. Model No. 12-36 accommodates charts up to 36" long and is particularly handy for the longer spectrographic and chromatographic charts. (A deluxe version is equipped with conven ient variable light control.) Both the larger models are double-purpose light boxes. They are useful for lecture demonstrations as well as for work with charts and graphs. Fluorescent lighting in all models is uniform and cool. Prices on GLOW-BOX vary according to length: from $40.50 to $135.00 Write for descriptive literature and sug gested uses for these handy light boxes.
