This Micro-Flow Pump is battery oper ated and has a capacity of 1 ml. Flow rates can be varied from 1 m l . / half hour to 1 m l . / 20 hours, with the rate determined by the resistor capsule used. The pump operates by electrolysis, generating a gas that moves a piston which drives fluid at a generally uniform rate. Extra bat tery packs and electrolyte are avail able and the pump can be re-used repeatedly. Model 085. Sage In struments, Inc., 2 Spring St., White Plains, Ν. Υ. 426

Gaussmeter

A new transistorized direct reading gaussmeter provides magnetic field measurements in eight ranges covering all fields from 0 to 100,000 gauss. The standard model, AL100G has a pre cision of 1%. The principle of opera tion involves the rotation of an ac curately wound wire coil at high speed by a synchronous motor. The output signal is directly proportional to the magnetic field and is read directly from a calibrated meter. Homogeneous or inhomogeneous fields may be measured, and temperature compensation is in corporated in the design. Alpha Scien tific Laboratories, Inc., P.O. Box 333, Berkeley 1, Calif. 427

DELTATHERM THERMOBALANCE The new Deltatherm Thermo balance, an accessory unit for the Model D 2000 Deltatherm, offers maximum convenience and versa tility for Thermogravimetric Anal ysis in chemistry, geology, metal lurgy, ceramics, and allied fields. The Thermobalance is the latest in a series of related instruments for use with the basic Deltatherm ther mal analysis system. The heart of the instrument is a precision balance of the null-type, which minimizes the effects of vibration. Enclosed in a gas-tight glass chamber, the balance may be operated in a vacu um or controlled atmosphere. Maximum recorder sensitivity is 2 micrograms per inch. This high sensitivity permits detection of low percentage changes in small samples.

This ability to analyze small samples provides : Maximum freedom from thermal lag. Maximum gas evolution in minimum time. Maximum freedom from thermal gradients in the sample. Standard with the Thermobalance is a 1250° C furnace, with a 1600° C furnace optional. The furnace is weight counterbalanced for operator convenience. Functionally designed, carefully tested, and ruggedly constructed for lasting accuracy by those expe rienced in the field of thermal anal ysis instrumentation, the Delta therm Thermobalance will prove a valuable addition to your laboratory.
