Convert Kimble Buret Stopcock to a Pressure Tight Stopcock... HAMILTON* with The NEW STOPCOCK ADAPTER At last the annoyance of leaking stockcocks and the high cost of special pressure stopcocks can be elimi nated by using the new Hamilton stopcock adapter. This laboratory device was designed so that it can be used with ordinary glass stopcocks. It is now available for KIMBLE 2 mm. BURET Stopcocks. Nothing need be done to the stopcock since the adapter fits into the groove of the standard stopcock plug.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION The adapter consists essentially of four major parts. First, a split combination screw and bushing fits over the groove at the end of the plug of the stopcock. This bushing has an inner ridge which locks into the groove of the plug when the two sections are brought together. Second, a cup with a hole in its base fits over the combina tion screw bushing, locking the two parts of the bushing securely in the groove and at the same time pressing against the ridge of the shell of the stopcock.

Third, a spring fits over the screw and presses against the cup, insuring that the latter is tight against the shell of the stopcock. Fourth, a containing nut allows the pressure applied by the spring to be varied ; a companion lock nut fixes the chosen pressure. * Hamilton, Ind. Eng. Chem. Anal. Ed. 19 360 0947)
