The Journal of Organic Chemistry Outstanding Author Award n 2012, The Journal of Organic Chemistry published nearly 1300 manuscripts in all areas of organic chemistry from authors in 62 countries. This body of work represents a truly impressive international effort by organic chemists to expand the boundaries of our discipline. To recognize the contributions of our authors, JOC will sponsor an Outstanding Author Award to be given for an Article published by the journal during the preceding year. The award will be presented at the Fall ACS National Meeting during a symposium that features a presentation by the JOC awardee and the awardee of a similar award sponsored by Organic Letters. The JOC and OL awardees will each receive an award plaque, a $3000 prize, and up to $1500 for expenses to attend the Fall ACS National Meeting. Please visit the JOC website to learn more about the award and the process for nominations. The editors of JOC also want to take this occasion to again express our appreciation to those of you who are authors and reviewers for the Journal. It goes without saying that it is you who provide the superb science and critical reviews that allow JOC to publish high impact and highly cited work.
