A small quantity of thc subs!.ance was then added t o the slide and the melt so produced was sprrad in a. thin film by use of a clean glass rod. The slide was then plnced Tipun a sheet of asbestos in an empty &siccator and allowed to cool, t,he interfcrence of i n purities and dust particles being thus largely eliminiit,cd.
