T h e bibliography is divided into twelve parts covering the following subjects: Agricultural Chemicals Analytical Chemistry Chemical Engineering and Equipment Detergents Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Dyes Inorganic Chemicals Ordnance Chemicals Paint, Varnishes, and Lacquers Plastics and Plasticizers Miscellaneous Chemicals Patents on Chemieals and Allied Products The first two have been issued and are priced a t $5 each. Parts 3 and 4 are Hearing completion. Part 2, Analytical Chemistry, covers all Publication Board Reports so classified in Volumes 1 t o 13, January 1946 to June 1950. This book is planned for the use of directors of research and development departments, technical librarians, chemists and chemical engineers, physicists, biologists, patent searchers and researchers, laboratory technicians, analysts, and schools of chemistry in colleges and universities offering research service to industry. I t is an index guide t o : Captured German-language reports Reports released b y various agencies of the U. S. Government Reports released b y British government agencies Reports prepared b y a large number of laboratories in colleges and in chemical industries of the United States Final reports prepared as a result of special investigations in Germany b y teams sponsored b y certain American and British industries T h e five sections into which the index is divided offer a complete coverage of these important documents. Section 1, Subject Index, contains 121 pages and consists of 4835 entries, to which there are approximately 16,000 annotations, covering 402 basic reports. T h e entries are arranged in a straight alphabetical classification. D a t a are crossindexed wherever they seem to add t o the usefulness of this publication. T H E Institute of Statistics of the University of North Carolina is offering courses in statistics at its summer session, June 11 (Continued on page 19 A)
